Dear Editor:
Would now be a bad time to express that I don't think their head is actually doing the reality manipulation. I know it seems like an odd time to be thinking about it when we're about to go into distraction and harassment mode, but it just isn't sitting well with me. I can't put a finger on why I think that, it's just a gut feeling, but agh Eris stop dragging me, I need to finish this letter!
Sincerely,
Tobias
Dear Editor:
ALL RIGHT. LET'S GO KICK SOME CULTIST ASS. C'mon, Tobias, let's take our unpoofable asses and beat the crap out of these wimps. :)
Eager and roaring to go,
Eris
Dear Editor:
You know, considering I didn't come up with this plan, it's pretty good. Lead on, my little magey ferret, while our zombie and irritable bald tomboy create havoc, and leave the mage to Zayr and I. :)
Good job, Zayr.
Love,
Nikado
Dear Editor:
I feel a little silly for being nervous about this plan when everyone else is so upbeat, but I guess that's just the mathematician in me. There's a lot about this plan that doesn't fall into numbers. I guess all I can do is try and do the best I can and hope our little anti-poof web holds up.
--Pablo
P. S. Wasn't Tobias trying to tell me something beforehand? What was it?
Dear Editor:
Um. I just stabbed the head guy. He's dead. The cult's milling about in confusion and panic. Why aren't things fixed yet?
Don't tell me I just kept everything from being fixed...!
At least this should prevent any more reality-bending, right? That I can live with. If we managed to stop reality from getting warped, then that's good enough.
Signed,
Zayr Enesse A'osut
Dear Editor:
...where did Nikado go...?
Confused,
Eris
Dear Editor:
Oh my god, Nikado just vanished. That's not supposed to happen! Bring him back! Retcon, retcon now! Oh god, I just knew my spell wasn't going to last long enough.
--Pablo
Dear Editor:
...I really feel like a bastard doing this. Yes, I know I just left Tobias and Eris to possibly get killed. I need Pablo to find this person so we can stop this person before we all no longer exist. Later, I'm going to feel like shit over this situation, but righ tnow I don't really have time.
Signed,
Zayr Enesse A'osut
Dear Editor:
....
The Spider, leader of the web cult, head bad guy who is skewing reality out of shape and is the cause of everything bad that's happened to us.
Is a fourteen year old girl.
I feel sort of cheated.
--Pablo
Dear Editor:
If you're testing my resolve, don't bother. I have no problem with ending a child's life to save the world. Just... please have Pablo move out of the way.
Signed,
Zayr Enesse A'osut
Dear Editor:
I'm sorry, I just can't. Please don't edit this out. I don't even think I can explain to Zayr what I see in this kid, but I can't let her be killed like this.
She has my eyes. She's just doing what she's been expected to do after being told that she's some great mage and that her life is already decided for her. Zayr saw what happened back at the village. Is it possible that I can make him understand that this girl is just trying to live up to the crap everyone forces on her?
--Pablo
Dear Editor:
....
Is this the way the plot's supposed to go?
I don't know how to fix this anymore. Maybe our world's just screwed. But I just can't bring myself to strike someone I consider a friend. Even if it is for the sake of the world.
I'm sorry.
Signed,
Zayr Enesse A'osut
Dear Editor:
For a moment, a brief moment, I was completely at a loss. I didn't know if things could still be fix, if the world could still be fixed. I just didn't want it to end quite like that.
Thank you for your words, Zayr. Thank you for having the right thing to say.
--Pablo
Dear Editor:
...errrr. Um. What just happened to me? I feel really cold and my head won't stop spinning. It's totally not cool for a hero of justice to launch projectile vomit across the floor. Make the world stop moving, plz :(
Love,
Nikado
Dear Editor:
Holy crap, pops is all right and not dead or non-existing or anything.
...not that I was worried or anything. Nope.
Not worried,
Eris
Dear Editor:
...uh, why is Eris calling me "pops" all of a sudden?
Love,
Nikado
Dear Editor:
I dunno, it seemed to fit?
Just going with it,
Eris
Dear Editor:
I'm not that old :'''''(
Love,
Nikado
Dear Editor:
... Okay, let me get this straight. This girl is telling us that because she's not that good at bending reality, she can't unkink reality without erasing all her manipulations. Which means that the whole story never happened. You know, I think I preferred the "and then we woke up" cop-out. I don't mean to yell, but I don't appreciate having all our accomplishments essentially nullified. It's rude to us.
Sincerely,
Tobias
Dear Editor:
Tell Tobias not to worry about it. I mean, who would want an ending like that? He's totally right about it being a cheap cop-out. No one would stand for it. But it's okay, because that's not what we're going to do. We're sound in our bonds of brotherhood (and sisterhood) and would never let our time together be erased. So the world won't be perfect. Not like it ever was in the first place. Friends stick together and that's what we're going to do, right everyone?
Love,
Nikado
Dear Editor:
What is he saying? We can't leave the world the way it is. Reality is fractured. All of these things that seem little to us have a ripple effect that will create worse problems. It's not about me. It's not about any one of us, or even all of us. How can we put ourselves above the world, no matter how much we want to keep what we have right now? We're not that special, and we can't be that selfish. We have to let it be fixed.
It was nice to be with all of you, even for a short time. I hope our fates might cross again.
Signed,
Zayr Enesse A'osut
Dear Editor:
Don't do this. Don't let him do this. It's not the way this story should end.
--Pablo
Dear Editor:
It's not fair. Forget the reward and the glamor and all that, I gained something important on this trip, you know? I think we all did. Don't let her remove that.
Determined not to let it happen,
Eris
Dear Editor:
There's nothing more to add to this scene.
Tell the others I'm sorry.
Signed,
Zayr Enesse A'osut
