The calendar of Shadow Star is similar to the Roman calendar that we're more familiar with on Earth. Hours and days are the same as in real life. Bells ring the hours, and magical clocks and sundials tell time. The year is 365 days long, though with eight months.
| Month Name | Abbv. | # Days In Month | Date in Our World | Name Meaning |
| Nuatoirc | Nua | 46 | March 20 | Nuatoirc is "creation" in the old tongue, and begins with the first day of Spring (March 20). It symbolizes new life as Irotana created the world. |
| Hyrab | Hyr | 46 | May 5 | Hyrab means "birth" in the Ancient Tongue. Legends say that it was in this month that Tyrea, Aeryon, Claeryn, Laugar, and Chaos were born. |
| Loyortob | Loy | 45 | June 20 | Loyortob means "betrayal" in the old tongue, and it is the third month. By this time in the first year of the world, Chaos had grown apart from the other gods, watching as they grew in friendship with their siblings and mother. The Nameless One would not join in anything the others did, and grew bored of creation and merely watching mortals play out their lives. Chaos created creatures of her own, demons and their ilk, and they swarmed over the world, killing everything. |
| Loirym | Loi | 46 | August 4 | In this month, it is said, Irotana's children battled Chaos and her mortals. Tyrea had long been drawn to the earth, and she directed those of that realm to fight. Aeryon took charge of air, Laugar of water, and Claeryn found his realm in fire. This month, first named Iltob (battle), is now named Loirym, "realm", because that is when the gods chose their realms. |
| Llocdaerd | Lloc | 45 | September 19 | War continued, and the four gods realized they needed strong weapons against Chaos. Each called sentients to them and granted them powers to protect the realms. These Protectors of the Realms became druids, and this was the "druid call", Llocdaerd. |
| Nadinu | Nad | 46 | November 3 | Yet the druids were not enough protection still. The gods pondered on this, and finally realized a solution- they would make creatures to bond with sentients and fight Chaos. Thus were the bonds created, and the sixth month called "bonding," or Nadinu. |
| Natori | Nat | 45 | December 19 | The seventh month is called Natori, or Seperation, because it was in this month that the gods battled most ferociously, and destroyed much. Many people fled to a large island, and to other parts of the world, yet it was the island that most fled to. They called that island Shadow Star. It was so named because although it was a refuge, a lone star of hope, it was under the shadow of war and chaos. |
| Nakal | Nak | 46 | February 2 | The eighth month was called Ucoip, "peace", because of the year's end and an end to the fighting. However, it was an unfitting name, because the lull was only a brief respite. Recently, after the linking of the Council, it was renamed Nakal, "linking." |
There are eight days in a week, based off of the eight months and their monumental occurrences. They are as follows:
