Young Princess Morphia rarely had to leave her eternal play time with her "big bro" and "respected older sister". So when she did, she was quite cranky. Today, she had her first meeting with the boy she was arranged to marry. She had already decided that she hated his guts.
The poor boy, unaware of his already decided fate, was on his merry way to the library, where he was told she would be. As he opened the door, he was immediatly assaulted by and irate soon-to-be ruler of Polaris.
"Because of you, I don't get to be with Callisto and Arcadin today. I bet I won't be able to see them lots of other days, either! I hate you, and I'll never forgive you for it!" The normally sweet girl shouted and glared at him.
Thuban was taken aback by this sudden outburst of hatred from somebody he barely knew. He looked dejectedly at her for a moment before speaking and bowing apologetically, "I'm very sorry that I'm keeping you from your friends and stuff. But I can't just stop coming here; people'll get angry. I'm sorry. I hope someday you don't mind me so much."
For a moment, Morphia wasn't sure what to do. She didn't expect him to be nice to her in the least, almost hoping he would be cruel and heartless just so hating him would be that much easier. But he was so nice, she felt like the bad person. "H-hey. Uh, um, maybe I shouldn't have said those things. You aren't acting like a horrible person, so I guess I don't hate you."
The polite boy continued on, looking at her with another sorry look, "Oh, no, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you or make you angry or make you hang out with me or anything! I'm terribly sorry, you have every right to hate me! Really, if you never ever want to forgive me, I'd understand, but I'm sorry that I've made you feel like that."
"Ah, no, you're a good person. There's no need to keep apologizing." Morphia held up her hands in a way that suggested he stop, but he went on.
"I am honestly, truly sorry, and ever if you never-"
She cut him off by giving him a quick, abrupt hug that only lasted a couple of seconds. When he looked at her questioningly, she told him, "See? A hug. All forgiven now."
