Stuck Together

Hiroyuki looked down at Shizuka as she slumped on the couch, asleep. This sort of thing happened a lot, her constantly resting on whatever she found. He didn't understand why it happened, but it did confirm to him who she was.

Back then, the same sort of thing happened, and every time it did, his old self panicked. He would have no idea of what he was supposed to do, or how he was supposed to react when his fiancee would fall over asleep midstride. By the time his past self got used to this strange little quirk of hers, something even worse happened.

She fell asleep... and disappeared.

He looked for her, everywhere that he could think of. It was simple luck that she had somehow ended up on the planet he chose to rest on: earth.

Hiro found it hard to fight the little bit of fear that lingered on everytime Shizuka would go to sleep. After all, if she disappeared here so many worse things could happen: she had lots of friends that would miss her and be horribly confused, not to mention he wasn't so sure he could go and search for her now if she left.

Pushing his glasses up, Hiro walked over to Shizuka and put a hand on her head, "No vanishing now."

In response, she woke up the tiniest bit and wrapped her arms around his legs in a strange sort of hug. She looked up at him through half-closed eyes and smiled a tired smile, "I'm not leaving anywhere. You're stuck with me for now."

With an slightly reassured grin, he smiled back at her and twirled a bit of her hair around his finger, "I hope so."
