These are all of the posts that have been made pertaining to roleplay in Otaku Sailor Wars. Notes about words, situations, and cultural references will be linked within each individual page if they are available.A Guide to Suffixes
OSW does not have a set guideline on the use or nonuse of Japanese suffixes. Some characters use them, while others use the best English equivalent, even if the character is Japanese or non-Japanese.Chan - Used for individuals younger than the speaker, or between close female friends.
Kun - Used for male (or female) peers in the school or workplace, usually of equal or lower status/age.
San - Used for someone you respect or has a greater authority than the speaker. Even used for family members, such as older siblings and parents, aunts/uncles, and grandparents.
Sama - Used for individuals that are highly respected (or often, worshipped). Typically reserved for royalty.
Senpai/Sempai - Used to refer to an individual with a higher rank than the speaker. For example, a freshman would call a junior/senior senpai. Even in the office, if someone is younger than the speaker but they have been with the company longer, they are referred to as 'senpai' usually.
Kouhai - The opposite of senpai, what an older ranking student/businessperson would refer to their inferiors as.
